Camp Sababa SIBS are day camps for the siblings of children with disabilities. Currently our junior youth group is made up of over 20 siblings aged 7 to 14, with numbers continually growing.

History of Camp
Sababa SIBS

Camp Sababa SIBS, extends Camp Sababa’s mission to support families with children with disabilities by focusing on the sibling. Supported by JCA’s The Choice Foundation, since its inception in 2019, Camp Sababa SIBS runs multiple day camps frequently throughout the year.

The program, still being in its early stages, aims to extend to overnight camps and to create a teen youth group in addition to the junior youth group.

Why is Camp Sababa SIBS important?

Camp Sababa SIBS focuses on those whose commitment and dedication to disability is often unrecognised, the siblings of children with disability (SIBS). Our SIBS belong to families that experience a range of unique and complex challenges. Often our SIBS are faced with additional responsibilities and expectations in comparison to their peers. Hence, Camp Sababa SIBS aims to provide a stress free, supportive and friendly environment.

The programs strive to build strong relationships between SIBS through exciting, team-based activities in the hope of creating a long-lasting support network. The program also gives our SIBS an opportunity where the focus is on them.
